At Metropolitan Neurosurgery Associates, our expert team of neurosurgeons: Dr. Alfred Steinberger, Dr. Frank Moore, Dr. Marc Arginteanu, Dr. Kevin Yao, and Dr. Yakov Gologorsky, are dedicated to providing the finest possible care by utilizing breakthrough advances in brain and spine surgery. We treat many brain and spine conditions using a variety of cutting edge techniques from minimally invasive spine procedures to complex brain surgeries.

Dr. Steinberger attended medical school at Columbia University, and completed his residency at The Neurological Institute of New York at Columbia University Medical Center. He founded Metropolitan Neurosurgery Associates in 1982 and has performed complex brain and spinal surgeries on more than 10,000 patients. Dr. Frank Moore completed his neurosurgical residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital, in New York City, in 1990. Dr. Moore trained with Dr. Leonard Malis, who is recognized as one of the founders of modern neurosurgery. He has vast experience ranging from brain tumors to complex spine surgeries and has operated on over 6,000 patients.

Dr. Moore’s individualized approach to patient care allows him to focus on the lifestyles and goals of each patient when developing a personalized treatment plan. Read more …

Dr. Arginteanu is board certified Neurosurgeon. Additionally, he completed fellowship training in Orthopedic Spine surgery. Dr. Arginteanu completed his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the AOA (medical honor society.) He maintains a private practice in New York City and suburban New Jersey, with multiple locations. Dr. Arginteanu is involved in medical teaching and holds a position as Clinical Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Read more …

Dr. Yao is a board certified Neurosurgeon who specializes in the treatment of brain and spine tumors. He obtained his medical training in New York at Columbia University (M.D.) and at Mount Sinai Medical Center (Neurosurgical Residency). Dr. Yao then completed a fellowship in complex brain and spine tumor surgery at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He then joined the Neurosurgical faculty at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, where Dr. Yao served as Co-Director of the Brain Tumor Center, Director of Spinal Oncology, and Director of Stereotactic Radiosurgery at Tufts Medical Center. He subsequently returned to New York, where he maintains a busy private practice in New York City and suburban New Jersey.  Read more …

Dr. Gologorsky is a compassionate and caring neurosurgeon and specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery.

He completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Chemistry. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with top honors and as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.  Read more …

Damaris Rivera is a Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified by the American Academy Nurse Credentialing Center and currently working at the Englewood office location of Metropolitan Neurosurgery Associates.  Her educational background includes a Master’s degree from New York University.  Before joining the staff at Metropolitan, she worked for Mount Sinai Medical Center, in New York City, for a span of over 14 years.  Read more…
