Resection of Vertebral Tumors

A vertical midline incision is made along the spine, in causing a single posterior approach to the surgery. One to three vertebrae are separated, along with tissue and muscle located among the area to help locate vertebral tumor. An En Bloc Laminectomy is performed in which the bone structure of the spine is retracted accordingly for easier access for further surgical procedures. The En Bloc Corpectomy is then performed by retraction in the tissue and muscle areas in locating specific spinal nerve and arteries within the surrounding vertebral body structure.
